About Crudo e Nudo
Crudo e Nudo anchors Santa Monicaβs vibrant Main Street as a celebrated sustainable seafood restaurant and biodynamic wine bar, just steps from the beach. Chef/Owner Brian Bornemannβa Santa Monica native who previously owned Isla and honed his craft at Michael's, The Tasting Kitchen, and Viale dei Romaniβwas inspired by trips to southern Italy to reimagine the Mediterranean tradition of serving great, local fish with amazing olive oil and wine into something uniquely Los Angeles.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Food was OK Service could be improved Definitely do NOT come here without a reservation ever. They will be rude to you for even trying to walk in. The inside was very hot, so you would definitely want to sit on the patio. If you have any health issues or high blood pressure, you could get dizzy. It is that hot. Be very careful.

The seafood quality was good and honestly everything tasted good overall but portions were pretty small tho. The branzino wasnβt that great and we def donβt recommend sitting inside! The kitchen is right in front of u so the smoke was hurting our eyes the whole time but outdoor dining looked way nicer tho :)

Given that this is a crudo-focused restaurant, we were excited to try several of their raw dishes. While the fish itself was clearly fresh, the overall execution felt off. Across almost all the crudo dishes, there was a noticeable lack of acidity. Aside from the oysters which came with some lemon. The result was dishes that felt flat, heavy, and lacking brightness or contrast. Even when dipping into the sauces, it mostly tasted like oil and salt, without much depth or balance. The oysters themselves were also surprisingly salty, which made them feel heavier and fisher than expected. We had hoped the hummus would provide a lighter, fresher counterpoint, but it ended up being quite heavy as well. The vegetables were coated in a strong zaβatar seasoning, and the addition of pickles didnβt quite work for us, it made the dish feel even more overwhelming rather than refreshing. Overall, while the ingredients seemed high quality, the dishes lacked balance and felt unnecessarily heavy throughout.

The last time I was in town I came here with a colleague for lunch and was blown away. I told myself I was going on my next time in town and today was that next time. Simone greeted me and remembered me from my one visit. She reviewed the menu and said to sit either inside or out. I decided to sit inside to feel the vibe and enjoy the music. Summer was my server and like her name she was a true ray of sunshine and made me feel very comfortable. Another colleague made a couple of suggestions for me to try and I followed his lead plus 1 item I had the last time that I found myself craving! I started with the Caesar Goes Vegan which I have been listing after since my 1st visit. So rich, so perfectly balanced with flavor and dusted with togarashi to elevate a great salad to epic heights. Next was the Venus Nachos. Now these were ridiculous. So very rich with the roe on top but all the flavors complimented each other while the variance in textures kept the party alive in your mouth. My colleague said the Kanpachi was a must and it was excellent. The house made vinegar and olive oil enhancements were just that, enhancements that allowed the fish to be the star. Simone came by and broug

My first perfect meal of 2026! The restaurant is so intimate and welcoming I felt like I was dining in someoneβs home. The food is to die for. If youβre not the most familiar with everything on the menu, hereβs what we ordered: Started with the the crudo trio and bread which is a must for all the sauce. From the first bite of fish we realized we had really found an absolute gem. Steamed clams and prawns after that. Lobster gnocchi for dessert. We will be back the next time we have something to celebrate. Shout out to the amazing staff who are producing excellent food in a very limited space.
